URBAN BROOCH #1

I perceive the Brooch, alias medals, orders, badges, and ordinary brooches, as a medium to tell the outside world about its attitudes, activities, and status. In the same way as Graffiti in the public space and Embroidered pictures with the word of God and proverbs in a home.

The concept URBAN BROOCH invites people to actively participate in the creation of the brooch.

I have in 18krt gold made an exact copy of the embroidery needle. At the exhibition, the needle and embroidery thread are ready to embroider on the clothes hanging in the exhibition.

Jackets and shirts hang like blank canvases and are embroidered during the exhibition with poetry, graffiti statements or decorations like a wall in the cityscape. Everything is free for the individual.

The experiment invites you to decide whether the brooch is a decoration, statement or vandalism. Embroidering takes time and with a gold pin, the action itself becomes a precious jewel. This is a statement in itself.
